Caption: During the Middle Ages this site was used as a blowing house, where concentrated tin ore was smelted. A waterwheel was situated where the tree to the left now is, and this operated the bellows for a furnace. A stamp was used to crush the ore, and this has left 3 depressions visible on the granite block in the foreground.
