Caption: Nicholas Holman founded the company as a boiler works in Pool in 1801. The company went on to make steam engines for the mining industry before specialising in compressed air equipment. Little now remains of the factory, but from the railway line on the Penzance to London route the lettering on the side of the building can still be read.
